Remembering Mike Hynson
With heavy hearts, we said goodbye to Mike Hynson on January 10, 2025. At 82 years old, he took his final breath with my mom and sister by his side, holding his hand. It was a surreal and deeply emotional moment for our family as we came to terms with the fact that Mike would no longer be with us in physical form.
Mike was already a legend long before he passed, and his impact stretched far beyond our family. To the world, he was a surf pioneer. To us, he was simply Mike—the troublemaking, kindhearted soul we loved. His legacy is woven into memories spanning over 25 years since he first met my mom.
We are honored to carry forward Mike Hynson’s legacy with the respect and integrity he deserves. His contributions to the surf community were immense, and we’re proud to continue offering his iconic line of boards and more.
